The Automation Conference
On May 20th and 21st, RedViking will present two seminars at The Automation Conference in Chicago. The Automation Conference is affiliated with Automation World and focuses on engineering improvements to manufacturing and testing. RedViking is a regular contributor to the AutomationWorld.com blog.
Rod Emery will present “Doubling Vehicle Production Throughput”
VP of Assembly Systems Rod Emery will present a case study on how a vehicle manufacturer was able to double throughput without increasing floor space or staffing. In 2013 and 2014, one of the world’s largest construction vehicle manufacturers reshored production from Japan into the U.S., using Battery-free AGVs and manufacturing execution systems to create a showplace factory. Safe, quiet and flexible, they’re a model of how heavy-duty manufacturing can be nimble in a rapidly changing global market.
Chris Lake will present “Streamlining Testing for the Dept. of Defense”
VP of Engineering Chris Lake will review a case study where the DOD’s largest helicopter maintenance and repair center was able to consolidate 20 helicopter test stands into 5 by using a new testing approach and flexible, integrated systems. Decades of experience in designing and building highly engineered ground vehicle powertrain test stands were drawn upon to create a clean slate for this program. The result is an accurate, safe, energy efficient set of dynamic test stands that will protect troop lives and save millions in taxpayer dollars. The Automation Conference offers over 20 educational sessions and networking opportunities for professionals in discrete manufacturing, continuous and batch processing and packaging.
