Under general direction from a Lead, oversees projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration. Responsibility for all aspects of the project over the entire project life cycle (Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor, Control and Close) must be familiar with the entire projects scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the team. 


Must have working knowledge of all aspects of the financial workbooks for tracking projects including but not limited to Gross Margin, Operating Profit, Backlog, Sales General and Admin Calculations as well as an understating of how to correct broken formulas in Excel, create new formulas in Excel and understand the reporting side of the business from an executive perspective.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical discipline, degrees in Business administration will also be considered as long as the applicant has a background in technical design and execution on complex custom equipment
  • Several years of experience in high-technology or advanced capital equipment design, build and installation including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and quality 
  • 7-10+ years of experience in project management within a manufacturing environment, PMP certification a plus 
  • Experience in the management and control / development of budgets scopes of work, personnel, scheduling and material resources in complex organizational environments required 
  • Strong influence-management, negotiation, leadership, and assertiveness skills necessary 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, executive management, project managers and support staff
  • Excellent documentation ability to ensure that all details around a project are understood and agreed upon by project management, contractors, vendors, internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and project champions or anyone else that has a stake and expectation of the program
  • Strong presentation development skills, with an ability to produce high-quality deliverables on all aspects of the project 
  • A working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 17025 or equivalent quality standards/procedures is preferred 
  • Experience supervising technical professionals is a must as this person will work very closely with a team of Project Engineers and Staff Engineers as well as manufacturing professionals on a daily basis
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%
