We showcased our powertrain test stands and turn-key assembly lines, with many people stopping by the booth to ask “What’s a Battery-free AGV?”
The Invisible Assembly Line
Rod Emery, VP Assembly Systems, hosted a seminar on “The Invisible Assembly Line: Battery-free AGVs with IPT®”. Rod compared and contrasted traditional chain-based conveyance with a technology that is relatively new to the U.S. — inductively powered AGV assembly lines. Because they provide 360 degree access, flexible modes of operation and are 90% unattached to the building, they create a virtually invisible assembly line. Automotive Powertrain Testing Impacts Military Helicopters
Chris Lake, VP Engineering, presented a seminar on “How Automotive Powertrain Testing is changing the World of Military Helicopters”. He discussed how lessons learned in automotive testing have enabled us to create a family of leading edge dynamic test systems for the U.S. Army’s largest helicopter repair and maintenance center. In a time of declining defense budgets we are really proud to help protect the safety of U.S. troops while also saving taxpayer dollars.
