Part Selection and Placement
We’ll work with your existing kitting and sequencing system, or we’ll design one for you. Then we’ll design error proofing systems to make sure that the right parts are correctly placed every time. Our kitting systems may include light indicators for pick or place to show your operator which part to add and where to add it. Vision inspection systems can check for part position, and alert the operator if it’s absent or incorrectly placed. Complexity of kitting implementations can vary greatly between different industries, and we have the relevant experience to help you find the right fit for your scenario.
Torque Tool Monitoring and Control
Automated torque guns will verify that parts are correctly fastened and notify the operator if they’re not. Other tool processes can be automated and measured as well. You’ll see a significant decline in rework and warranty costs when you can verify that all tool forces are exerted as required. Tool configuration data can be saved to validate changes over time.
Process Complete Verification
The best place to verify a task has been completed is at the station where the operators have the tools to address it. Our system supports in-station process control through interlocking of process and data with the PLC. Examples include printing and placing a bar code sticker that will become part of your traceability system, or interlocking with station PLCs. Mandatory bar code scanning will stop an incomplete part from progressing to the next station. We’ll make sure that you aren’t adding cost to a faulty product.
IIoT capability is built into every Argonaut hardware device, so if you’re using Argonaut you’re almost there. With Argonaut, IIoT integration is as simple as adding another app. You’ll easily have full broadcast/subscribe so that you can capture every bit of useful information from your PLCs.
We’ll design and build your in-line or end-of-line vision inspection for a wide variety of criteria. We’ve made inspection systems that check for automotive badging at a rate of about 1 car per minute, and systems that inspect munitions at a rate of 1,200 bullets per minute.
Easily Added Automated Work Instructions
Sometimes our customers come to us because they’ve got one lone operator who’s become the primary knowledge leader. Or they might be tired of keeping their hard copy workstation manuals updated. The Argonaut Automated Work Instructions app is often the next step after installing Error Proofing.
Automated work instructions quickly bring everyone up to the same level of expertise. Interlocking with operator login and quality alert interface, operators are prompted when a change in Instructions is made. Maintained centrally, they’re instantly communicated to all like stations when updated. Our customers have seen reduced training costs and higher product quality as a result.
The Right Reports to the Right People
Argonaut offers Error Proofing reports for plant supervisors, accumulated data reporting for cost and quality studies, and high level summary reports for executives. If you’d like to add complex process analysis, Argonaut offers an OEE/FIS app to provide manufacturing analytics to any authorized recipient anywhere in your enterprise on any authorized device.
