For decades, our customers had worked with traditional powertrain testing platforms. Each operator was required to use different interfaces to load test profiles, monitor the testing process and ensure that the correct data was being captured. Many of their testing processes were manual, so highly trained experts were required for each control room. New operators who had grown up with user-friendly software found the systems difficult to learn, and training on one powertrain test system did not prepare them to operate another.
RedViking created another option – a comprehensive, automated test executive and controls platform to integrate all testing functions into a single interface. Designed around the user, it ensures that training costs are reduced and that operators are able to run tests on more than one test system.
Automatic, User-Configurable Test Profiles
The new platform automatically loads the test profile through RFID identification of the test article, provides remote test monitoring through a remote video camera, and allows real-time analysis through high speed data acquisition. Designed in modules, our customers purchase only the software they need for each area while retaining the unified look and feel to streamline training and testing process.
Fully Integrated Data Acquisition and Analysis
Today there is no need for highly trained operators to manually input data and then monitor and manually control multiple systems. All operators see the entire test environment on 3 adjacent displays – live video feed from the test cell, test profile with machine state, and real-time data reporting and analysis. The user-friendly interface provides a consistent interface across multiple test environments.
Additional enhancements to the testing processes include improved data entry, automated test procedure work instructions, high-speed data acquisition and real-time analysis, comprehensive test reporting, automated data archive, and integrated calibration and preventive maintenance information.
