Position: Project Manager | Special Projects

Plymouth, MI


Our customers are some of the world’s largest manufacturers and they trust us to deliver creative solutions no one else is engineering.  We have created a new role for a strategic thinker to work on Special Projects dedicated to modernization strategy for manufacturing leaders.

You will work with some of the largest in Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, Heavy Equipment, Electric Transportation, Renewable Energy and more


This Opportunity: Oversee custom projects that require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration for some of the world’s largest manufacturers.  You will be responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire live cycle from original concept through final implementation.  Interface with all levels of our organization as well as our customers, distributors and vendors to ensure adherence to quality standards and final project deliverables.  You will guide the project team assigning responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing documentation and a schedule to ensure timely completion of projects. We are looking for someone with experience in automation, manufacturing, and complex custom equipment as well as strong project management and team-building skills that can turn ideas into high-quality deliverables.


Skills & Experience:

  • Technical degree or equivalent experience in design and execution on complex custom equipment projects, PMP a plus
  • Several years of PM experience in high-tech or advanced capital equipment design, build and installation including scheduling, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and quality
  • Experience in the development and control of budgets, scopes of work, personnel, scheduling and material resources in manufacturing required
  • Experience guiding technical professionals is a must as this person will work very closely with a team of Project Engineers, Staff Engineers and manufacturing support
  • Knowledge of budgets/forecasting and financials for tracking projects, advanced skills in Excel and some ERP experience
  • Strong influence-management, negotiation, leadership, and assertiveness skills  
  • Excellent communications skills in order to communicate effectively with all levels
  • Strong presentation development skills, with an ability to produce high-quality deliverables on all aspects of the project created through collaborations, presentations and briefings as well as solid record-keeping skills 
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and 17025 or equivalent quality standards preferred
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%
