RedViking Honored as "Cool Place to Work"
Crain's Business Recognizes RedViking
RedViking is happy to announce that we’ve been honored as a Cool Place to Work in Michigan by Crain’s. Hundreds of companies were nominated and there were 31 winners in our size bracket. According to Crain’s Detroit, “(the) Cool Places to Work recognition program honors employers that go the extra mile to make employees feel appreciated — as judged by the employees themselves.” Here’s what Crain’s has to say about how they chose the winners. The program was open to entries from Michigan businesses, nonprofits and government entities with more than 15 employees working in the state. Employees completed an 80-question email survey on what makes their employer a cool place to work, and where their employer could improve.
What our employees wrote about us
Here’s what some of RedViking’s employees had to say about what makes us a cool place to work: “RedViking promotes "outside-of-the-box" thinking and supports new and innovative ideas in all aspects of the product.” “The draw, especially for engineers, is the thought we are doing things that few others will tackle. Most people here do not want an ‘also ran’ type of environment, but one that is challenging, not from a bureaucratic point of view, but from a cutting edge point of view.” “This company has a huge interest in our well-being. They have an onsite health and wellness person, commitment to family, charity drives, lunches, picnics, foosball and ping pong challenges.”
Focus on wellness and education
RedViking has implemented many programs designed to improve the quality of the work environment, including:
- Onsite wellness classes, gym, lockers and towel service
- Internal competitions, like foosball, euchre, ping pong, horseshoes and batting (we have our own horseshoe pits and batting cage)
- Company social events, like a family picnic and holiday party
- 401k matching
- Tuition reimbursement
- Onsite career training for engineers and project managers
