RedViking designs, builds and implements manufacturing and test solutions. We create elegant, highly engineered solutions to difficult manufacturing problems. From process design to information infrastructure to final assembly and test, we design and build systems to increase efficiency, provide greater flexibility, and improve quality. We’re committed to sustainability in all aspects of manufacturing and our systems are designed to last. Whether you need to improve one process or create an entirely new line, RedViking has the experienced project management team to make sure you get the job done.
Here’s how we got to where we are today.
Founded in 1981 by one of the Original Designers of the PLC
RedViking was founded in 1981 by Dave Emmett, one of the original designers of the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). He named the company SuperiorControls and built it on this principle, “If it’s good for the customer, good for the company and good for the team, then it’s the right thing to do.” We rapidly grew beyond controls into test machines, custom automation, exhaust system gages and manufacturing execution systems. By 2007, we were designing and building entire assembly lines and had expanded our operations by adding an engineering center in Raleigh, NC and field offices throughout North America.
RedViking was spun off from SuperiorControls in 2010 after receiving a contract to redesign the powertrain testing process, machines, software and controls for the world’s largest U.S. Army helicopter Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) center. We continued expanding by opening a Texas engineering center in 2012, and we’re recognized today as the U.S. leader in flexible powertrain test systems.
Merged with SuperiorControls in 2014
The two companies merged talents in 2014 to become RedViking. Drawing from over 30 years of experience, we have a workforce of talented computer, software, mechanical, electrical and controls engineers, highly experienced program and project managers and skilled mechanical and electrical builders. With state-of-the-art engineering and manufacturing centers in Michigan, North Carolina and Texas and support provided worldwide, RedViking is able to quickly respond to customer requirements and solve the most difficult engineering challenges in aerospace, automotive, off-highway and defense.
